Stampin' Celebration 98-Thank You

Hello there!  I'm back with another Stampin' Celebration!  And like I explained in my MDS Monday post...this one will be short and sweet due to me making a very foolish mistake!  Click here to read about it!  So also please forgive the quality of my picture... I could not get onto MDS at first, so I made a card and took a picture with my iphone, but the lighting in the room wasn't the best, and I didn't do any editing of the photo at all, so.... it is what it is!

Here's my card...

I tried the 'stencil in watercolour technique' from one of my Online Card Classes using the colours from the challenge board.  It worked out ok, except the stencil popped up in the middle despite my best efforts, so you don't get the full effect, but it is still pretty!

Challenge Guidelines
  • Feel free to use any brand of product you may have in your stash.
  • We ask that you create a new project for this challenge and add a link to our blog or use the challenge graphic in your post.

  • And have fun!!!
  • The challenge will be open for 2 weeks and the linky will close on Friday Feb. 27th @ 9pm EST.

The CASE of Sweet Sorbet

I can't believe my Spring Break will be over this week... it goes by WAY TOO FAST!  But, so it is...

I haven't had a chance to get crafty for a few days, but I wanted to show you some cards that I had made in the last few weeks!  I did a lot of CASEing, which I like to do sometimes.  There are so many beautiful cards out there that so many talented people create, and sometimes instead of doing all the work and dreaming up my own, I like to just go ahead and outright copy a card that I already know I love!

I used alot of Sweet Sorbet DSP and the coordinating stamp set as well.  I sure got a lot of cards made by just using the same paper and stamps  so I didn't always have to clean up my workspace!  Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency!

Enjoy!

I honestly don't know anymore who I was inspired by with this first card.  I like to give credit where credit is due, but it's been a few weeks since I made this, and I have since deleted the photo.  If you recognize it as yours, please say so.  I didn't copy it exactly, but pretty closely!

This one I was inspired by Cindy Schuster.  I changed a few things to make it mine, but it was largely inspired by one of her Artisan Wednesday Wow cards.

Pretty sure this one was based on one of Dawn Olchefske's  cards.

I really don't know about this one anymore.  Sorry!

Same story with this last card too!  None of these are out and out copies though, but I want no hard feelings, so if you recognize anything, feel free to shout it out, and I'll gladly give credit where credit is due!

Take care!  I'll hopefully be back with some more of my CASEd cards tomorrow!

Many Thanks! CQC#232, FabFri37

I played along with the challenges at ColourQ and FabFriday today!  I loved the sketch at FabFriday, it was different... and different is good!  And the colours at Colour Q were a challenge to say the least.... not because of the combo, but rather because I had about 6 square inches of Lucky Limeade left!  I very carefully fit my Word Bubbles Framelits on it, and then used my SAMJ to stamp on them!  Perfect!

You may be wondering where I got that small framelit on the bottom right, well, it's really the same as the one above it, I just ran it through twice to make it a bit shorter!  Finicky... but it worked!

Well... I would say that was a great use of the very last little bit of my Lucky Limeade.... lucky indeed, wouldn't you say!

See you soon for another card!

Thanks So Much Rainbow! FM151

Hello again!  Seriously?  This is my third post today... do not keel over in shock!  Keep reading!

I have a fun thank you card I want to show off to you!  I stamped the Positively Chevron stamp on watercolour paper, heat embossed it using white embossing powder, and then using distress markers I coloured across it in a rainbow, spritzed it with water and let it do it's thing!  After it got all blend-y and watercolour-y, I used my heat tool to dry it up, wiped some colour off the white embossed part to make it pop a little more, and finished off with my sentiment banner.  I also punched some hearts and out of balck cardstock, and used glossy accents on them for a little shine!  I mounted the whole she-bang on Crumb Cake cardstock and called it done!

I am linking up with the Friday Mashup today!  I loved their challenge as I LOVE rainbows!  The sketch worked perfectly turned on it's side as well!

This was their challenge... use this sketch, or use rainbows or rainbow colours, or MASH IT UP and do both!  I chose to mash it up!  Nothing better to do on a Saturday afternoon!

Here's another I did,  but for this one after stamping and heat embossing I pressed it down onto my craft sheet where I had already coloured with my distress markers and spritzed some water.  I sort of smooshed it around a little, dried it with my heat gun and finished it off the same as my first card.  The whole effect was much lighter and softer than when I coloured directly on the paper.  I like it this way too, but I think the first card is my favourite of the two.  What's yours?

OK, suppertime here.... seeya next week!

Thank You!

Today I have a set of thank you cards that I want to show you.  I made them in a rainbow of colours!  I love rainbows!  I also made a set of 6 envelopes to go with them using my Brights DSP stack.

Let's start with a picture!

I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock in  six different colours... and then... cut them up!  Eeeek!  But it was all good, I put them back together again, popping up some of the panels on a stack of the coordinating cardstock.  You can see what I mean if you look at the second picture!

Isn't it cool?  And I love that they all have an envelope that goes with it!

I plan to give these away as a set to my secret sister tonight, at our secret sister reveal evening... to thank her for all the little things she has done for me secretly over the past year to brighten my days!  And I have a set of cards for MY secret sister as one last gift before we begin again with a new round of secret sisters to surprise!
