The Open Sea-FMS136, CMCC#20

Hello again... it's still Monday, and it's still a holiday, and I am still nursing this gigantic head cold... so I am still gonna be quick!  Here's the other card I had a chance to make this weekend.  I was inspired by the colours at Colour Me...! (hi girls!) and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Here's my card!

I still had The Open Sea on my desk and wanted to make another nautical card... so I did!  I hope you like!  I hardly dare to admit this, but this was also the VERY FIRST TIME I inked up my Tape It stamps.... shame on me!  I like them... ALOT!

OK, thanks for taking time out of your day to look!  That's it for me then!

Happy Birthday to You!

So... no more rain... we didn't get that much after all... certainly not enough to melt all our snow.  But we did get ALOT of sunshine and awesome warm temperatures which took care of almost all the snow anyway... so we're all happy here!

I've got another birthday card to show you today!  I really love this one.  It's perfect for that man in your life!  Take a look!

I used Brushed Gold cardstock  and also used Gold EP.  And the other 'golden' idea I had was to colour some rhinestones with my gold Sharpie! Oh, I also used my colour spritzer tool with my gold Sharpie... it worked perfectly!

Here you can see a bit more of the detail.  I really have to do heat embossing more often, it can pack a real punch!  The part of the First Edition DSP I used was all about kangaroos... which is perfect, because my husbands family is from Australia!  I know my father-in-law will really like that!

On this last one I coloured pearls with my gold Sharpie... and I think I like it better than the rhinestones.

Here's one more card that I made... totally different, but using the same stamp set.

This one is really bright and fun in real life.  Well... hope you've enjoyed my cards today.  We'll see you tomorrow!

I'm Back!

Yes... after a few weeks hiatus... I am back!  It actually felt sort of nice to just focus on a few other things for awhile.  I was doing some crafting, but not a ton... mostly design team projects.  I do have a lot of cards to show ya'll... ones that I made during the Christmas break of all things!  And the last few days I've finally had some time to really get back into it again, so there are a few more recent ones.  I won't show them all in one post... my computer would probably crash!

Let's get started!

I STILL had some Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Accents from a couple years ago.  I decided to stop hoarding that now was as good a time as any to make some pretty cards and use up some retired cardstock at the same time!  They're pretty simple cards.  Some of them are personalized with a monogram for some of my nieces birthdays.  They all use pretty much the same colour combo and  I used a variety of current and retired supplies, which is pretty much the norm for me anyway!

Check them out!

This one I cased from somewhere, something... but seriously, I made this in the Christmas break, so I couldn't tell you anymore who or what!  To be honest I can't even remember what punch I used for those leaves!  (although it must have been the Build a Blossom punch!)

This one was for my niece, Anna, who turned three a few weeks ago!  You might think this isn't a very fun card for a three year old... but she's a real little lady!

You can see I'm using up some of my Old Olive grosgrain ribbon too!  That stuff just seems to last forever!  I used my Cloudy Day EF on this one, and it was VERY cute when all was said and done!

Surprise!  (for me!)  This one was for my daughter Carlye who turned 9 in January, but I forgot I even had this till right now.  I totally gave her a way different birthday card!   And there are no other nieces whose names begin with "C".  Oh well, there's always next year!

And this last one was sent off to Katie, another niece, who celebrated a birthday at the beginning of January!

Don't you just love the way they all turned out?  I was pretty pleased with my morning's work!  Yes, these all took me just one morning to make!  That's what happens when you use the same group of supplies to make a lot of different cards... you get efficient!

OK, that's all for me for right now!  I'm going to try to get some more cards up here for you... because believe me... there are plenty!  Seeyou later!

For You - FMS111, CQC#214

Hello again!  Another post for today!

I wanted to link up with Freshly Made Sketches and the ColourQ for this one!

I had to dig into my box of retired colours for this one!  Still have a teensy bit of Dusty Durango left, and lots of Bashful Blue!  Such a lovely colour combo.  I made my brother in law to be a birthday card.  Hope he likes it!  I used my Truly Grateful stamp set for the first time with this one.  Love it!  I actually used a few different stamp sets... Truly Grateful, Gorgeous Grunge and Chalk Talk.  The Bashful Blue ribbon I cut down from a 1" grosgrain with stitching on each edge, to a narrow one with stitching down the middle!  I heat embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder on the Early Espresso label for some added interest and detail.  I love little details like that!

It's a great masculine card don't you think?  Thanks for taking the time to look!

Have a fabulous day!  xo Anita

Thankful For Fall!

I've got a few more cards today that use some DSP.  Not scraps really, but larger pieces this time!  These are such simple cards to create... and some of that DSP from Stampin' Up! is just so beautiful!

Take a look for yourself!  These are basically all the same card, just a few details like DSP and embellishments switched up for each one!

Aren't they so pretty, but SOOO easy?!?!  The little details like paper piercing around the label, really put the finishing touch on here.  These would be great for anyone to just have on hand.  A thank you card is something I like to just give to people when they least expect it!  My mother-in-law did some baking for me once, spur of the moment, and she sure didn't expect to get a CARD saying 'thank you' once again, a few days later.  But it made her day right back!  My husbands youngest sister also does babysitting for us... FREE OF CHARGE!!!... if that doesn't deserve a thank you by way of a beautiful card... I don't know what does!  She loved getting a card.... it just makes it seem that much more thankful I think!

Now here is one more card that I found in my folder of pictures that I didn't show you yet.  This one uses scraps again, and is the same layout as one I showed you a few days ago!  But this one has a whole different look just because of the DSP that I used!  This one is so fun and bright!  Love that!

OK... that is what I have for you today!  Hopefully when you come back tomorrow, I'll have another card for you!  My nephew has a birthday this weekend and I haven't made him a card yet... and his sister has one the day before and her card is already in the mail!  Can't have that!  At least in my house.... everything, and I mean EVERYTHING has to be EVEN STEVEN around here!!!

Don't forget to send a card to someone this weekend!  It is World Card Making Day on October 5!!!

Spice Cake Scraps Cards

Happy Friday!  Finally!  This week has been crazy and I am soooo glad it is almost over!  As promised I have some cards that you can easily whip up using your scraps of DSP.  I needed to have some cards on hand for myself and these were a cinch to whip up in a flash!  Let's get right to it!

All my cards were made in no time at all.... and I actually used the basic layout and made another set using different DSP!  I'll show you those in the next couple days.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Masculine-Lovely As A Tree

Happy Wednesday!  Hope your week is going great!  We're halfway to the weekend!  Yay!

Today's card is pretty much the same as this one here.  I just changed the colours and stamps, nixed the sentiment, and WAH-LA.... a different card, but without all the figuring out of a layout, and all that jazz.  I often do this if I'm in a crunch to get a card quickly.  Oh, I know there are 10 minute cards out there, but it would take me 20 minutes to find them!  This way, I just check my own archives, find one that I can quickly recreate... and then.... DONE!

I love the colour combo on this card.  It's a very masculine looking card as well, which is great, because I never seem to have enough of those!  If I create just for fun, I usually make something pretty, or girly, or do some digi scrapping.

Thanks for looking!  Hope the rest of your week is just fabulous!

With Sympathy

Happy Friday!  Woohoo! (only 2 more weeks till the kids go back to school!)  Except that means I go back too, and it actually gets alot noisier since I'm the one driving the bus!  Joke's on me!

Anyway, today is our 11th wedding anniversary.  Most people try to go out with just the two of them on these sorts of special occasions, but... we are not most people I guess!  We are going out with my husbands WHOLE family!  Fun, right?  Just happened to work out (or not!) that way, but it's all good!  The more the merrier!

Let's check out the card I have for you today.

WARNING:  When I made this card I had no appropriate sentiments from SU! that would fit on this piece of Whisper White, so I went right ahead and used some contraband.  Forgive me!  My bad!

Now that we've gotten past that, take a closer look at my card and leave me a comment letting me know what you think!

Have a great weekend!  xo Anita

Hello There!

I made this card on a base of Crushed Curry, which was a previous In Color, then retired and is now back in the Regals collection.  The ribbon is non SU! but matched perfectly.

Celebrate Today

Ahem, some fussy cutting on this one!  Not my favourite activity!  Cute card nonetheless!

Happy New Baby

I created this card for SarahLynn's birth announcements.  Yes, I made over 90 of these.... why do you ask?  They were actually not a lot of work.  I did everything in batches... and for two weeks the kitchen island had all the supplies on it while I worked in snippets here and there.  A pile of ribbon cut a 6", a pile of the top note dies, a pile of punched circles, etc... interesting... it certainly was fun!  Needless to say, we did not have a Christmas card sent out that year!

(I think the ribbon might be contraband!)

Extreme Birthday

Easy peasy card.  I churned a few of these out when I needed to get a bunch made for various nephews birthdays!  I should like to try these in girlie colours.  I think it would be great!

Happy Birthday!

I haven't been on here for A WEEK!!!  June is a busy, busy month here, what with school winding down, sports days, year end shows, recitals and if I am not going with one of my kids on a school trip, I am driving for a different one!  So, hopefully I'll get a chance to do some "fun work" over the next few weeks and keep up with cards and scrapping.

I CASED this card from Mary Fish, a fellow SU! demo.  It uses the new (then!) in colours and a sentiment from the Create-A-Cupcake stamp set.

I made this card back in my early days as a SU! demo, so there's still a little contraband on here!  The ribbon just matched the Calypso Coral so perfectly, I HAD to!

It was such an easy and quick card to make, despite all the little circles... that's what punches are for!  The hardest part was figuring out where to score my card folds!  Cute card, no?

Lovely As A Tree Reflection

I love this technique.  It has such a huge impact in person.  I must do this more often.  I used glossy paper (photo paper) and an acetate sheet.  There's a tutorial on SCS that tells you how to do this technique.  For the moon I used my circle punch on a post it note.  This is a fabulous card.

Happy Birthday!

OK, not my favourite card, but this is not a blog of my favourite cards, it is a record for me of what I've made.  There you have it!

Love Box

Adorable little box.  You could put anything in here from a piece of jewelry to candies.  Anything from soup to nuts... well, maybe not the soup part!  Super easy.  This is the 2-4-6-8 box, and the tutorial could be found anywhere online really, but mine came from Splitcoast Stampers.

Look Who's Turning Two!

This card is such a cute one.  It uses a fabulous colour combo of Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Island Indigo.  Great card for a little kids birthday or by changing the colour combo and sentiment it would be a fantastic baby card.  Love those little animals!
