Things to Remember-MDSM #75

Okaaay.... so after saying in my last post that I wanted to sit down and make time to just play along with a challenge again.... I went and did just that.  I turned to one of my favourite challenge sites for MDS... MDS Monday!  I haven't played along in a while... and it felt so good to sit there and just relax and have FUN!  There was a great sketch for us this week...

... and it was perfect to scrapbook these photos of my daughter's 9th birthday dinner celebration!

What do you think?  I love it!  And now that I've done this I really feel motivated to get some more pics out of my computer files and into some MDS albums!

Don't forget to click over to MDS Monday to check out their awesome sketch and challenge site and play along yourself.

And... MDS Monday ladies.... thanks for a great sketch to get my creative juices flowing!

Some More 'Found' Layouts!-MDS

Hello again! Just a few more layouts I found in my youngest daughters album that I hadn't shared here yet!  Take a peek...

The above layout was one I created quite awhile ago, and never got around to posting until now!

My zoo layout was created using a template in MDS... the name escapes me at the moment, but I'll probably remember as soon as I get off of here!

This was a facing layout from another I made for a challenge.... either MDS Monday or Stampin' Celebration.... just one more thing I can't quite recall at the moment!

I am really enjoying going back looking at these layouts and reading my journalling!  It's nothing fancy for sure, but now, one and half years later, it is soooo interesting to read!  This was my baby's second birthday.... now she's almost four!

Originally, this was not actually one of my favourite layouts, but now I've decided to post it anyway.  they can't all be works of art, and besides, looking at it now.... I actually kinda like it!

Ok, so that's it for all my 'found' layouts... hopefully you'll come back in the next few days.  I'll have another for you on the 1st of August for my Stampin' Celebration post!  And who knows, I'm going to check on some of my other favourite challenges and try to make the time to play along again!

Kids Make Life Wonderful-MDS Layouts

I've got a couple layouts for you that I actually did way back in February.  They were guest designs for a post a did on mydigitalstudio.net.  You can see that post here.  In that post you can also see a hybrid layout that I made using MDS and Stampin' Up! products.

Here's my two layouts...

I think these are two of my most favourite layouts I've done in a long time!  I just love this Retro Fresh DSP.  On the first layout I used a variety of downloads... the Hello Perfection and Beautiful Today ones, and also some older ones!  Aren't they beautiful?

OK, I'll be back soon with some more!

More MDS...Again!

OK, I'm almost caught up showing you what I've been up to lately... here's some more scrapbooking!

I did post this one on mydigitalstudio.net... but never on here, so thought I would!  It's a real CAS layout... sometimes these work out really nice when I have a bunch of pictures that I really want to use instead of just one or two!  It's so hard to choose sometimes!

This layout above gave me no end of grief.  When I was trying to export it, it kept mirroring the bottom picture so that it was zoomed in on my father in law's shirt!  Yeah, not the look I was going for!  So in the end I flipped it myself in MDS, and it exported it just the way I wanted it to!  So wierd!

I just found some more layouts, so there'll be a bunch more posts in the coming days!

Some More MDS!!

I'm back with a few more layouts that I just finished in the last couple weeks!  It feels great to be spending some quiet time doing some scrapbooking while the girls are shrieking their heads off in the backyard, jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler running underneath it!  Have you ever noticed how loud that noise can be?  The sprinkler I mean... not the kids!

OK, here's my stuff....

The above layout was for another challenge in which I just didn't get the chance to upload it in time... but here it finally is!  And the two layouts below are two simple layouts I made, they sit side by side in the album, that used alot of pictures of a day our entire family spent in Stanley Park. (one of our fave spots to go with my husbands whole family for a whole day!)  I simply added some random stamps that I found in my MDS that seemed to suit the whole 'together, family' theme!  I wanted to pictures to shine here, and so left the rest of it very simple!

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to have a peek!

Happy 10th Birthday-MDS

Hello!  Long time no talk!  My presence on this old blog has been pretty sparse lately hasn't it?  Well, there's no special reason really... just enjoying the summer with my family!  And not getting up to alot of card making at all... but the last little while I have picked up my MDS again... and am trying to make a dent in my pictures stored on my computer!  I had a hard time getting going again... seemed like I had to find my groove again... but I hope I'm on my way!

I love playing along with challenges to get my creative juices flowing, so I hope to be a little more regular from now on!  If you're looking for some great challenges yourself, why don't you check out Stampin' Celebration, which holds two challenges a month, or MDS Monday is another fabulous challenge which I love to play along with, but have sadly neglected as of late, and they have a challenge every week.  There are other challenges like the Pixel Maven which I haven't played along with too much, but hope to find (make!) time to do more regularly!

Anyway... as I was going through all my layouts and re-aquainting myself with what I had scrapbooked and what I had not done yet.... I found a few layouts that didn't get posted here, what with the busyness of summer and all... so I figured I would start with posting them.  I actually started this layout for a MDS Monday challenge, but didn't get it posted in time for the deadline, so it languished away in my files until now!  Here you are!

Well, there you have it.  My daughters 10th birthday layout finally posted, and her 11th birthday is sneaking up on me around the corner!  Eeek!

Hope you enjoyed!  Thanks for taking the time to look!

I {Heart} This - SC82

Good morning y'all!  I'm back today with a great inspiration challenge for Stampin' Celebration!  This time around we're all about s'more camping memories.... or maybe glamping! do you have some camping pictures just waiting to be scrapbooked? or maybe you'll take inspiration from the colours and make a card!  Whatever strikes your fancy!

Here's a scrap layout I made in MDS of my two oldest girls on a camping/fishing trip with my husband.... where according to my husband, there was a lot more camping than fishing!

My oldest daughter enjoyed herself to the fullest and didn't miss me at all (only because she had her sister with her!) and my younger daughter took a picture of me on her camera before she left so she could look at me before she went to sleep and when she missed me! (except the camera battery went dead, so that didn't work out, and she was just a teensy bit sad the whole time!)  And then.... now this is a funny story... she thought my husband was going to get arrested (her mind was working overtime here since Mommy wasn't along!)

My husband found a campsite, parked the van, set up the tent, they all got settled... and then the park co-ordinator came along for payment.  Now every campsite we've ever been to has debit/credit, so when my husband whipped his card out, the guy told him it was cash only... and my husband had no cash!  And the nearest town or machine where my husband could get cash was MILES away, and it was already 9:30 at night... so while my husband 'discussed' this with the park co-ordinator Carlye started worrying and crying that Daddy was going to get arrested for' camping without paying' and all sorts of other drastic scenarios!  Poor thing!  Anyway... in the end, turned out there was the 'old-fashioned' way of paying with a credit card where they swipe that little box thingy over your card to take an imprint of it.  Who knew!?  The only reason the guy worked up the energy to go and get his credit card thing, was because my husband drew his attention to Carlye's crying, and the guy probably didn't want to be the cause of more of a young girl's tears!

Anyway... that's one of our memories of this camping trip.... you go scrap yours, or make a card based on the inspiration photo above, then come back and link up on Stampin' Celebration!  You could be our Pick of the Party!  And something new this month will be that you can vote on your favourite entry as well!  Just click on the little heart in the corner of the entry thumbnail that you love the most... you get one vote per challenge, so play along soon so that more people have more time to see your entry and vote on you!  Yay!

Have a great summer!  xo Anita
