Sparkle and Shine... YOU-SC94

Hello again!  I'm back with another post... this one for Stampin' Celebration!  If you're looking for MDS Monday... scroll up (or down!) and you'll find it!  OK, we've got this great inspiration board for you today!  Love it!  Look at all the bling you are gonna get to use!

 

I mean... look at it!  Your options are WIDE open!  You can go with the gold, the stars, sequins, glitter, black and white... make it look classic or fresh and fun... flirty or bold!  Make a clock or a cake!  Listen to me... I'm like an advertisement or something!  Maybe even a Dr. Suess book!  Eek! Get a grip girl!  Anyway.... you can do whatever catches your fancy.... get inspired... see here how I was!

 

I loved designing this layout!  My oldest daughter loved this when she saw it... and can hardly wait to see it printed in real in her book!  Of course that is going to be awhile, since I make one book for two years, so I won't be printing this book till after 2015 is done!  Patience is a virtue my dear!  (And definitely not one of her strong points!)  Anyway....

Bowling with the GCC-MDSM95

Hello friends!  It's time for another episode of MDS Monday!  We've got this awesome sketch from Yapha today, and it was just perfect for these photos of my daughter at the bowling alley with Girls' Craft Club.  Check out the sketch and what I came up with!

Isn't it such a fun layout?  And I dare say we troop leaders were louder at some points of the evening than the girls were!  SO. MUCH. FUN.  Seriously.

Spring Camping-MDSM94

Good morning to you all again!  Quick post today.... this is the last week of school before Christmas break, and I actually feel like I might come out on top of my list of 'things to do', so in order for me to keep feeling like that, I'll be short and sweet!  And let's face it, you probably have a list of things to do too, so you don't need to spend all your time listening to me blather on and on!

So, it's Monday which means a new MDS Monday challenge!  We had a super, super awesome sketch from Heidi to work with.... check it out....

No excuses not to use this sketch is there?  I loved working with it!  It was so effortless... I think my layout came together in less than half and hour.... and that's with my three kids running around playing cops and robbers!  That's sayin' something folks....

Now this is quite different than any of my other layouts in the sense that I did not actually ADD ANY PINK TO THIS PAGE!  Hey, can I help it that my daughter is wearing a pink t-shirt and hoodie?  The whole spring camping ordeal didn't lend itself to the colour pink very well at all!  It was cold, rainy and about as dreary as a spring day could get in the freezing cold mountains.  There was sand and mud in everything, on everything, between everything.... and then they brought it all home with them and it got transferred from the van to the house.... oh yeah.... no frilly pink involved anywhere!

Baby Announcement!

Yes!  That's right!  A baby announcement!  

No.... not me!  (pick yourself up off the floor Mom!)  My sister in law and brother in law!  

They are pretty newlyweds... so newlywed in fact that I just finally finished scrapbooking their wedding photos!  But we were so excited to hear that they are expecting a baby in June.  They will be fabulous parents I'm sure!  So when Esther called to ask if I could design something so she could announce it on Facebook (apparently this is all the rage!) I was MORE than pleased to accommodate her.  In fact I really can't take much credit for this design at all...  she wanted it to be a chalkboard with some cool letters, she provided the darling little ultrasound photo and the stamps were a cinch in MDS... easy peasy.  I seriously think it took me like.... maaaaaybe 20 minutes?

GCC Campout-SC93

Good morning to you all!  I'm back with a couple posts again today.  One for Stampin' Celebration, which is this post, and if you're looking for MDS Monday, that's my other post and you may have to scroll down.... or maybe up!  Not sure... but you'll find it!

I did a scrapbook layout again... I still have not gotten to card making, and I'm not going to make any promises for this month.  I keep thinking maybe during the Christmas holidays when the kids are home... and I have no work schedule, but who am I kidding?  Anyway... MDSM92 - Secret Friend Tea

Time for a Stampin' Celebration! SC92

I took the opportunity to design some easy peasy (lemon squeezy!) Christmas cards for my girls to hand out in their classrooms.... and I have to confess... I took their Christmas cards from last year and just sort of re-made them in MDS changing  a few different colours and stamps and of course the picture and the year!  And that my friends is why I LOVE MDS so much!  Because you can totally do that!  Here's my cards... MDSM91-What's Your Number?

Hello there friends!  It's that time again... another great challenge beginning at MDS Monday today!  This one will run for two weeks due to the American Thanksgiving... so you'll have lots of time to play along with us!  And don't forget you can play along more than one time!  Here's Tara's cool sketch for this challenge...

We'd love to see what you can come up with.  It's a fairly simple sketch, but for an added twist try to incorporate a number.  A number of an anniversary, a birthday, an age... some kind of milestone or just a significant number in your life!!!  I used the number 10 for the '10 grandchildren' that my in-laws have and made a layout about this cool little present that they all gave my husband's baby sister when she got married a few months ago!  Here...

If you want to read my journalling, just click my layout to view it larger.  Don't you just love that last picture where the kids (and Grandma!) are all laughing their little heads off at what their fave auntie just opened from them!  Or maybe it's just me because I love them so dearly...

Anyway.... pretty simple page really.  It's so nice to have a great sketch as a starting off point... I don't think I would have come up with a page like this if it weren't for the sketch and Tara wanting that number!  Isn't that cool though, how it turned into this?

MDSM90 Again! - Family Forever!

Surprise Holiday-MDSM90

Hello... and welcome to MDS Monday!  We've got an awesome sketch for you from Beth!  Check it out!

Surprise, surprise... no wedding day scrapbook layouts... instead I discovered these pictures on an old camera we have.  My daughter had taken it with to Victoria, BC on a little surprise holiday with Grandpa and Grandma, and I had never even seen the pictures!  They were typical pictures taken by a nine year old... crooked, blurry, dark, a picture of nothing... even a few selfies!  But there were also a few in there that I thought I would incorporate in a layout about there mini holiday!  Check it out!

I was pretty happy to come across these photos... as I obviously was not in on this little vacay... therefore couldn't take any pictures!

A Ride in a Limo-SC91

Three Beauties- SC90

Hello!  I'm back again with my second post for the day.  If you are here to see MDS Monday, scroll down.... otherwise... keep reading for our new Stampin' Celebration challenge!  It's a beautiful inspiration challenge and we can't wait to see what you come up with!  Look at this beauty!

Of course, in light of my schedule these last few weeks (and months!) I again resorted to MDS to inspire you (hopefully!) and designed a layout from a beautiful day way back in April when my husband's baby sister got married.  I know it might seem like I've got alot of layouts of that day lately, but we've got alot of great pictures to scrap from that day.  And like I promised in my MDS Monday post from today, I hope to schedule some time in for card making again.... starting VERY soon!

So, this inspiration board was absolutely perfect for these wedding photos, because my sister in law's whole wedding had this rustic barn board, burlap, vintage lace, light pink theme going on.  Man, it was like a pinterest page exploded in that hall.... Pancake Day-MDSM88

Hello friends!  I can't believe we're getting to the end of October already!  My backyard trees have lost all their vibrant red leaves (although, there is still one last cherry tree that refuses to let it's leaves fall... or even turn a different colour!).  I do look forward to this time of year though.... everything just seems to slow down a little (work-wise anyway!) and I can spend more time (hopefully!) doing MDS and getting back into my office to make cards!  

For those of you who come here to see my cards, please don't abandon me and lose hope!  I have had a busy summer and fall, and have honestly only managed to make a handful of cards, but have sent them out the door so fast, I haven't even taken a picture of them to post on here!  I hope to get my office organized this week and then schedule in some time to make cards.  Yes.  I said that.  I'm going to make it happen!  So keep your eyes peeled for some cards in the near future!

In the meantime though, I've got some more MDS for ya!  I do love how much scrapbooking I'm getting in lately... it's so easy to just do when I just have 15 minutes free or so, and then leave it and pick it up again later!

Anyway, it's Monday, and you know that means it's time for a new challenge at MDS Monday.  This week it is brought to us by Jeanna!  She wants us to use this great sketch and use lots of COLOUR!

I had my pictures in colour at first as well.... but it was just a little.... too colourful, if you know what I mean!  So a simple fix to black and white and it changes the whole feel.  

These pictures are about a family tradition that I hope will continue on forever!  It's been going on for over thirty years and we are lovin' it still!  Click on my layout to read the journalling and view my page in closer detail!
