SCIC#76 Sketch Inspiration

Ahhh... how I love Spring Break!  Today is of course still Saturday, but in my mind I am now officially on my two week Spring Break!  No school till March 31!  Yay!

Today also marks the new sketch inspiration at Stampin' Celebration!  See what I made!

I felt like some spring colours, and went with a bright, fun combo I've never used before!  The card base is Strawberry Slush and the embossed white panel is matted with Smoky Slate. LOVE!  Some Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry ribbons, finished off with a couple Bermuda Bay flowers!  I seriously whipped this card up in 20 minutes from start to finish!

Here is the sketch.  You can check it out and all the other DT members inspiring samples over at Stampin' Celebration!

Speaking of DT members... we are thrilled to have two very talented ladies join our team.  Let's give a warm welcome to Heather North and Lynda DayDefinitely go check out their blogs by clicking their names.... they've got talent!

OK, so now it's your turn to get your creative juices flowing, and play along with our challenge!  You can either use the sketch, or the photo inspiration from the 1st of the month, or even a combo of the two!  Let's see whatcha got!  Bring it on... cards, 3D projects, scrapbooking, digital, hybrid.... whatevah!  Have fun!

Oh, we do have a couple changes to the challenge... you'll get sneak peeks of the challenge and projects the day before a new one comes up and the challenge is also open for a few days longer than before.  So... get creating and link up your stuff before the end of the day on the 27thWe love to see your stuff!

Thank You!

Today I have a set of thank you cards that I want to show you.  I made them in a rainbow of colours!  I love rainbows!  I also made a set of 6 envelopes to go with them using my Brights DSP stack.

Let's start with a picture!

I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock in  six different colours... and then... cut them up!  Eeeek!  But it was all good, I put them back together again, popping up some of the panels on a stack of the coordinating cardstock.  You can see what I mean if you look at the second picture!

Isn't it cool?  And I love that they all have an envelope that goes with it!

I plan to give these away as a set to my secret sister tonight, at our secret sister reveal evening... to thank her for all the little things she has done for me secretly over the past year to brighten my days!  And I have a set of cards for MY secret sister as one last gift before we begin again with a new round of secret sisters to surprise!

MDS on Friday!

Happy Friday!  I love the weekends!  Unfortunately my hubby has been working most Saturdays, so it's just me and the girls, but these are usually nice days too!  And these days it also means staying inside nice and cozy while it POURS rain out there!  But I'm not complaining... you don't have to shovel rain!  I love being inside nice and cozy while it's raining outside!

Here's the last couple grandkids from my parents brag book, plus a couple pages with some miscellaneous snapshots of the grandkids!

Doesn't Andrew look like a fun loving little guy?

And this little lady is just three months younger than my own SarahLynn, and they can really giggle up a storm together!

The last couple pages were identical, I just switched up the photos!  Easy peasy.... lemon squeazy!

OK... seeya next week!

My Three Lovelies!

Happy Thursday!  The weekend is getting closer!  Yay!

I'm going to quickly show you three more layouts from my Grandkids Book that I made for my parents.  These three are special.... they are my little lovelies!

Gemma, our oldest daughter.  This was taken on her 10th birthday this past summer!  Turning out to be quite a young lady!

Carlye just turned 9 a few weeks ago.  She's our snugglebug and a bigger and more willing helper than her could not be found.  She folds laundry on the sly to surprise me!  Seriously?

And here's our youngest little firecracker!  She's three... that's all I should have to say!  Just looking at her you should be able to tell that she's a real ball of fun, always with a ready giggle, and keeps us on our toes!

Seeyou tomorrow for the last little batch of grandkiddies!  (I know my mom must be swelling with pride on the other side of the country!  Love you Mom!)

Here's Derek... growing up to be quite a gentleman!  Just turned 13!

Michelle... quite a sweet, polite young lady!  Going on 12!

And Katie... another fun and sweet niece.  Just turned 8 yrs old.

We can hardly wait for them to come and visit this summer!  Exciting!

Come back for some more tomorrow!  Some pics of my own three daughters!

More MDS!

As promised I am back with some more MDS layouts.  Four of them to be exact!

These four kiddos are from my second oldest sister, Sarah Lynn.

Have a look...

Sam is a pretty cool nephew.  Today is his 13th birthday.  Happy Birthday Sam!  Your card is in the mail!

Matthew.  I've got great nieces and nephews, that's for sure!

Abigail.  No sweeter niece could there be!

And then there's this little gal.... spunky little firecracker.... just like her Mommy at her age!

OK, that's it for me!  Seeya tomorrow!

I am off to clean up after our wild winter weather this past weekend!  Crazy... we got about a foot of snow in the space of 24 hours!  Not so bad compared to the rest of this country, but for us, this is VERY unusual.  We are normally enjoying spring weather and the cherry blossoms usually bloom by about next week, but I am sure we will not see any of that yet!

MDS Grandkids Album

For today I want to show you a few pages from the grandkids book that I made for my parents!

First of all... it's a book that you can get printed at Costco.  All you do is drag and drop your jpgs into the photo boxes and an hour later you have a quick album!  I have excellent results colour-wise at my Costco (Abbotsford, BC).  I just have to remember to tell them to turn the auto correct off... and the finished result matches my SU! colours exactly!  So to begin, I used a book that I had at home already to measure the finished size of the the canvas, and then just made a custom canvas in MDS and went from there!  In hind sight I should have also accounted for a bleed area.  It  didn't make too much of a problem, only on one of my chalkboard art pages... but you hardly even notice.... although I do!

So, without further ado... here is my title page, which shows through a cutout in the front cover of the book.

It's been a little while since I made this, but as far as my memory allows, everything I used on both my chalkboards was from a free downloaded font.  Except for the two flourishes on either side of the word 'empty'.  Those are from MDS... I just did a global search for flourish and picked my favourite one!

My parents have 17 grandchildren, so this book allowed a page for each grandchild, and a few with some miscellaneous fun pictures at the end.  To make sure no grandkids felt like they were at the back of the book and should have been at the front, I simply put the book in order of their age!  I will show you the book in order of family.  So what you will see over the next few days will be all of my oldest sister's kids in order of their age, and so on.

Here's my fabulously fun niece, Natalia.... going on 16 this year!  Eeek!

Nathan is turning 14 this month.  A nicer young man you couldn't find!

James... going on 11.  Don't you love his smile?

And then there's this cutie.  Andreas is in kindergarten and just turned 6.

And this ball of fun is almost 4 and keeps his Mommy company during the day!

I have used a variety of downloads and a bunch of tricks to do this or that!  If you have any questions or comments, I'd love to hear 'em!

Seeya tomorrow with a few more from my next sister!

Oh, Hello!

Happy Friday!  We're beginning day two of our long weekend already!  Today is the day that I will get into my stamp room!  But first, I'll quickly show you a card I made!

This one is very pretty, isn't it?

It's pretty self explanatory, so I won't bore you with any chit chat!  What a nice soft, spring-y card this would be to send to someone 'just because', don't you think?

I am blogging and designing over at mydigitalstudio.net today.... click on over to see some more spring-y inspiration!  Leave me some love!

Have a fabulous weekend!  Hope you get some crafting time in!

Oh, Happy Day!

No school for us today!  Not due to the weather of course... but our teachers have a Pro D Day, so that means kids and bus drivers have the day off too!  Yay!  No school tomorrow either... also due to a Pro D Day!  So, after a three day work/school week for us, I will hopefully be able to make some cards or get some more scrapbooking done!  One can only hope!

I've got a cute little notecard to show you.  I made a set of these for my husband's grandmother's 89th birthday on Christmas Day.  She loved 'em!

These were just the cutest things when they were done.  They were 4x4, so still plenty of room to write a happy message in to brighten someone's day!  Hope you like 'em too!

That's it for me... with the kiddos home, time is shorter than usual!
